Ulysses Workflow Video (Shawn Blanc)

Over the past few months as we’ve been working on our new course, Learn Ulysses, I’ve learned a lot about the Ulysses app itself. And most of what I’ve learned has come from seeing how other people use the app.

For instance, thanks to Matt Gemmell I discovered the Quick Open feature that’s on both iPad and Mac (jump to 05:56 in the video to see). This is something that is quite obvious in hindsight, but unless you know you don’t know (right?).

It’s one thing to discover a new feature or shortcut that you didn’t know about. It’s something else to see how that feature can actually be useful to you so you can take full advantage of it in your own workflow.

Which is why Learn Ulysses will include a handful of Setup Interviews. These interviews offer a behind-the-scenes look at how others are using Ulysses in their day-to-day workflows. They’re a great way to see some real-world examples and glean some ideas for yourself.

With that in mind, I thought it’d be fun to record this screencast video showing how I have my Ulysses set up and how I use it on a day-to-day basis.

And a quick side note… This screencast shows my Mac app, but everything here translates to the iPad as well. I do quite a bit of writing on my iPad, and thus I use both versions of Ulysses about equally.
